"Marcel Bach (1879-1950), "the Lot Valley", Oil On Panel"
Oil on panel, representing the Lot Valley, signed lower left Marcel Bach, painter from the southwest. Marcel Bach (Bordeaux 1879-1950) was a student at the school of fine arts in his hometown, then at the age of nineteen, he "went up" to Paris where, influenced by Cézanne, whom he met many times, he oriented his style towards impressionism; he then produced works with a subtle, caressing and strong luminosity. He then exhibited regularly at the Salon des Indépendants from 1908 to 1932, at the Salon d'Automne, then at the Tuileries. He was mobilized in 1914, but was a prisoner in 1916. Around 1920, he bought a house in Marcilhac sur Célé in the Lot, whose landscapes inspired his works, all in sensitivity and harmony, evolving towards an impressionist realism. This is the case of the oil "Lot valley" that we offer for sale. Oil on panel in good condition presented in a contemporary frame.
