Two Art Deco Period Arched Bay Windows In Hammered And Chiseled Wrought Iron
These two extraordinary bay windows come from an Art Deco period hotel on the Côtes d'Armor seaside (Saint Cast Le Guildo), installed on 1925.
They are in very good condition, very solid and rigid, they have been brushed which reveals all their aesthetic qualities. Presented here without glass.
Dimensions : maximum height 262 cm total width 381 cm
Widths from left to right (photo 1) : 110 - 83 - 80 - 108 cm = 381 cm (twice therefore)
The dimensions of the two doors themselves in the center are: height 220 cm width 163 cm (83 + 80 cm) T
The peripheral frames and central upright are made of 35mm angle iron with a hammered front, the other metal elements are made of 25mm angle iron. The two large pull handles are made of chiseled wrought iron. The doors are hinged on a metal pivot. They are heavy of course but today with the ball bearing pivots these doors are hinged with a finger !
In addition to their large glass surface, the bays have an obvious graphic quality. They can come to type and energize a facade of an outbuilding, a store facade, create the surprise in a hotel, a workshop ..... outside as inside.
The doors are nicely monogrammed 'HPS' in hammered wrought iron with the name of the hotel where they were located : Hôtel des Pierres Sonnantes, monogram to reuse which can become a signature
Exceptional and unique, architectural, to imagine with the reflections of the windows and the night lighting !
Price for a bay (5 elements): € 12,000 (two identical bays are available)
