Exceptional suzani made in Uzbekistan around 1950 Traditional decoration of stylized flowers. Cotton, silk. Dimensions: 187 cm / 151 cm Good condition. The etymology of the word suzani is suzan, which means needle, in the Persian language. It is an embroidery work done with a needle by young girls and mainly presented as a dowry on their wedding day. The making of a suzani represented approximately two years of work.
