Very beautiful and rare penguin made by the Hippolyte Boulenger Creil et Montereau (HBCM) factory on a model by the sculptor Émile Gazan. Covered with a beautiful enamel, very white and little cracked. The Hippolyte Boulenger Creil et Montereau factory produced the crackled pieces published by "La Maîtrise", in particular those of the Adnet brothers. Émile Gazan's animal subjects are very rare. He more readily sculpted human subjects published in polychrome porcelain by the Etling editions. Signed intaglio on one side of the terrace E.
