Large sculpture of Saint Dominic in polychrome elm carved in the round from the 17th century. Saint Dominic is represented standing dressed in a tunic and a cope held by a belt to which a chaplet is attached. He holds a Bible in his left hand, at his feet is a seated dog holding a torch in its mouth representing attachment, loyalty and fidelity. Original polychromy in good condition. Sculpture in the round from the 17th century in good condition. Sold with a later solid walnut base
