Victor Marais-milton 1872-1968 Les Escarpins.
French painter from the Paris region, he specialized in genre painting and more specifically in the life of cardinals who were art lovers and feasters. He was a member of the Salon des Artistes Français in 1892 where he exhibited regularly and also abroad, in the United States, England, Belgium, Germany. His painting is meticulous, rich in colors and very anecdotal. The canvas is signed at the bottom left.
