School from the beginning of the 19th century representing Aphrodite with a dolphin removing his sandal, the subject is known and prized and this way of representing the goddess Aphrodite became quite fashionable around the 2nd century BC, we also find representations with variations at the Museum of History in Vienna, at the Louvre Museum in Paris, we can find the goddess alone or as here with a dolphin or accompanied by Eros Model of "good" quality, pretty patina (small wear on the latter) resting on a base or pedestal of round shape with plant motifs
