"Silver Gilt Ciborium, France, Late 19th Century. Orfevre Puisselgue Rusand "
Neo-Gothic style ciborium in silver and gilded silver, made in two tones, resting on a circular foot with a six-lobed outline, highlighted with fillets, leafy clasps and a marine anchor in the center. The terrace is almost flat, decorated with grids on a guilloche background. Six large water leaf petals, among which are inlaid small fruits, cover the central part of the terrace and form a pedestal on which is screwed a six-section shaft, decorated with a flattened knot with twisted ribs and channels. The straight-lipped cup is set in a cut-out mount, decorated with interlacing foliage alternating with lanceolate leaves. The guilloche cover of the ciborium forms a dome surrounded by gilded water leaves in its upper part and is surmounted by a flowery cross. A non-gilded, trompe-l'oeil diamond-shaped ornamentation to soften the play of light covers the lower part of the lid.
