Mortar Base & Its Mortar

I propose this marriage of convenience. The base was at the back of an old stable and the mortar in the courtyard served as a cachepot. It would seem that the mortar is from the 18th century and the base from the 19th. However, they fit together perfectly. As if age does not matter. Well, almost. Everything is offered in its natural state without makeup, to be washed.
