Object description :

"Pair Of Louis XVI Style Ormolu Sconces With Child Musicians Late 19th Century "
Pair of Louis XVI style ormolu sconces with child musicians late 19th century

An elegant and decorative pair of Louis XVI-style three-light sconces in finely chiseled and gilded bronze, decorated with busts of child musicians blowing fifes, intertwined acanthus leaves, foliage scrolls, thyrses scrolls and quiver-like shafts.

Beyond the differences and interpretation, these sconces are stylistically close to the model supplied by Jean Hauré in 1787 for the Château de Saint-Cloud, a copy of which is in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

Beautiful French work from the late 19th century.

Sizes: H 18.89 In - Total H 22.44 In. - W 15.35 In - D 7.48 In.

Our sconces are in fine condition. They have been electrified to European standards and receive white opalines simulating candles. Upgrade to American standards on request.
