Louis XVI period walnut tambour-front cabinet.
The contrast in scale between the small case and the wide uprights is characteristic of the 18th century. The fluted uprights rest on cabriole legs ending in sabots (carved from a single piece of wood); the inner edges of the uprights are chamfered, while the upper sections feature convex detailing. The top follows the line of a quarter-round molding inlaid into the panels. It features an inset shelf and pegged side construction, ensuring great structural integrity. The tambour shutter has been restored and operates perfectly.
