Object description :

"Portrait Of A Man , Mid 19th Century "
Portrait of a man wearing a red pompom headdress and holding a pipe. This type of pompom headdress was worn in some regions of Italy as well as in France. This is perhaps the portrait of a supporter of Giuseppe Garibaldi who wore similar hairstyles during his life and to whom the bright red of his shirts is associated.
Oil on canvas in very good condition, from the second half of the 19th century.
