Beautiful and rare portrait representing a nun with a cornette, this white fabric headdress was considered a distinctive garment by the Daughters of Charity, a Roman Catholic society of apostolic life founded by Saint Louise de Marillac and Saint Vincent de Paul in the 17th century. The model is represented here next to a bottle of Triple orange blossom water, as part of their activities, the nuns belonging to the Daughters of Charity were often involved in health care for the sick.... Very good condition, beautiful rendering of the materials with a "beautiful" polychromy This is a rare document presented in good condition, without frame
