Desk in solid mahogany and mahogany veneer in two elements. The lower part includes six knockout drawers, decorated in their interior perimeter with a brass ogee molding. Each is fitted with an original lock and fitted key. The threaded entry, applied, highlights the passage of the key. The bottom and sides of each drawer are made of oak. Above, a shelf pulled out using two brass rings forms a writing desk with a mitered frame and original green leather with gold vignette and cold edging. On each side, the uprights are decorated with 3 fixed grooves, covered in brass. Below, a collar shaped in brass overhangs each foot. The latter are turned and spindle also accompanied by fixed grooves covered in brass. Each foot ends on a bronze ball shoe. The sides of the desk are made of a single panel surrounded by ogee molding. The mahogany top is inlaid with two brass threads of two different widths, straight on the front and on the interior part matching the shape of the display case. Around the perimeter, we have a slightly overflowing molded brass rod. The upper part is composed of a miter-cut door inlaid with two brass threads and an original glass and an original lock in working order. Inside we discover a mahogany shelf. The pilasters on each side have fixed grooves clad in brass. The side sides are S-shaped with shelves. The top is straight at the front and moves to the side. This desk is topped with purple Brocatelle marble, surrounded on the back and sides by a knockout gallery, smooth and openwork in the protruding part and ending on the front. ******** Period: 2nd part 19th Century Excellent condition after restoration in our workshop.
