From 1800, Abel-Etienne Giroux worked at Le Singe Violet, subcontractor to Martin-Guillaume Biennais who became official supplier to Napoleon Bonaparte in 1802. Giroux is also cited as one of the main goldsmiths that Biennais employed to supply the residences of the Emperor.
