Beautiful and rare silver sugar tongs from the 18th century It bears the hallmarks of the town of Cognac around 1766-1775 by the goldsmith Nivet Jean received in 1757 It is engraved with a coat of arms under a marquis crown It may be by Jean De Plard, lord of Genouillé (located northwest of Cognac) The seed representing a natural acorn, brings a touch of quality and finesse to this piece. Perfect condition Length 17.5cm Weight 75grs This type of sugar tongs is quite typical in the Bordeaux region, but much rarer for other cities and jurisdictions.
