Lovely cone-shaped soliflore vase in engraved crystal, gilded bronze and polychrome cloisonné enamels. Resting on a square base with richly enameled festoons, a finely carved cherub supports a small circular tray centered with a chalice intended to receive the vase. The vase, removable for easy maintenance, is wheel-engraved with a floral decoration punctuated with falling knots. Double golden and copper patina. Incised signature of Maison Alphonse Giroux Paris. The vase dates from before 1838, the date of the takeover of the House by the Giroux children where it changed its company name. A creation of the famous “merchant of princes” who had a shop since 1799 at No. 7, rue du Coq Saint-Honoré, then Boulevard des Capucines in Paris. Dimensions: Total height: 25 cm Height without the horn: 12.5 cm Cornet diameter: 10.2 cm Base: 8 cm x 8 cm Weight: 520 g Very good condition. Some scratches from use on the edge of the horn. High quality work, fine carving, a little gem! Please note that I respond to any request about my items. If you do not receive any response from me, do not hesitate to check your spam or junk mail.
