18th Century Georgian Painted Country House Bookcase
A charming late 18th century, early 19th century painted Georgian country house bookcase. A molded cornice above a pair of four bar glazed doors enclosing a central division with three solid oak adjustable shelves to each side. The lower section includes two fielded panel doors which open to reveal capacious storage on 2 fixed shelves. All standing on shaped bracket feet. The bookcase is in two sections for ease of movement and transportation and each section has the original lock and a single key operates both locks. The original brass escutcheons are still in place. Original glazing and paneled back. Wonderful patina and color.
