Marcel COSSON (1878-1956) The dancers' dressing room Oil on canvas, signed lower in the middle 27x35cm Gilded wooden frame 50x58cm Marcel Cosson Born in 1878 in Bordeaux. Died in 1956 in Paris. 20th century, Marcel Cosson is a French Post-Impressionist painter. He first exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris, of which he became a member, honorable mention in 1901, third medal in 1911, then at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts and at that of the Tuileries. He often treated subjects of opera, ballet and circus. He was a painter of women, of Parisian life, of the world of dance, of theater. (ref. Bénézit)
