The sea green marble clock has a base, with concave corners, decorated with a chiseled brass motif representing two swans and a fountain. This base carried by bronze spinning top feet. Four cylindrical columns also in marble, decorated with collars at the top and bottom, support a sculpture in golden regula depicting a panther on a rock with the inscription France. The white enamel dial graduated in Roman numerals is surrounded by delicately chiselled cords. The pendulum is decorated with the face of Louis XIV radiant in his capacity as Sun King. This decoration is accompanied by two spelter vases, with volute handles and decorations of mascaron, garlands and acanthus leaves. Each vase rests on a tiered sea green marble base.
