Directoire Period Painted Wood Paneling Trumeau
The surround of this beautiful wooden overmantel, of a reasonable size, is painted in dark green faux wood enhanced with gold arabesques. The painting, on the upper part, represents an odalisque, a reclining naked woman, whose workmanship, as always on the piers, is quite naive but truly charming. It is painted directly on the panel, in good condition. The mirror is mercury, the back panel has been redone.
