Mercier Frères in Paris Beautiful pair of mahogany armchairs with cane backs. Large flat backs, arched armrests, fluted baluster supports with lanceolate leaves. Wide and deep seats, fluted spindle legs. Gilt bronze ornamentation: fusaroles and florets. Removable pads, canework in perfect condition. Can be used as office chairs. High quality seats, circa 1870. A sideboard from the same set of furniture bears a manufacturer's plaque. Total height 109 cm, seat height 45 cm (+ 3 cm cushion), width 62 cm, depth 55 cm.
