Antique casket made out of eight orange agate slabs, all held by a brass mount resting on four spheres in agate also.
In the 19th century, this kind of objets de vertu was often given as a present to upper class young girls. Queen Victoria, then Princess of Kent, was thus given a white agate casket of a similar fashion by her aunts, Princess Sophia of the United Kingdom and Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kassel.
