Large bronze sculpture with original double medal and brown patina, representing a young girl sitting on a fountain and holding a broken jug in her hand, it is signed Math Moreau hors competition, numbered 5966 and bears a medal of honor stamp on the terrace, it rests on a pivoting base. Old cast iron from the end of the 19th century. Mathurin MOREAU (1822-1912), champion of feminine grace, entered the Paris School of Fine Arts in 1841 in the workshops of Jules Ramey and Auguste Dumont. He won the second prize in Rome in 1842 and was awarded a medal of honor at the Salon in 1897. Weight 26 kg
