Stele with a triangular pediment in marble stone representing a person praying with his right hand raised in a gesture of adoration standing in a naos. This gesture characterizes the worship of the goddess Tanit. The material used allows us to attribute this stele to Carthage and not to Utica. This Punic stele shows traces of polychromy. Polychromy is present on certain steles preserved at the Louvre (Inv. AO 1116) and from 19th and 20th century excavations in Utica and Carthage. Related works: Louvre Inv. AO 1114, AO 1117, AO 1118, AO 22827. Details on www.ekinium.com
