Magnificent silver watch, double case by Johann Gottfried, Kriedel in Germany, circa 1730.
Champlevé silver dial, with Roman numerals for the hours, and Arabic numerals for the minutes, Louis XV hands in gilded brass, and day dates, in a aperture at 5:30.
Superb movement in gilded brass, with verge escapement, rocket chain, and strapping, pillars, and even field wheel decorated with engraved and pierced silver. First plain silver case, and second, entirely decorated with flowers and foliage, with a scene depicting a young woman sitting in a garden.
Perfect mechanical and aesthetic condition, despite its almost three centuries.
