Pair of paintings made around 18th century mercury ice, green patinated wood frame. Our interpretation: Mirror in art or game of consciousness... Since the 15th century the mirror has been the judge of painting, the flat mirror organizes our gaze. These mirror-paintings attempt to direct our senses into a dizziness, like a derealization of the world and a depersonalization of the subject... By seeing himself, the spectator is no longer only in relationship with himself but possibly opens his consciousness to a intrinsic relationship between the body, space, light, time and one's own nature.
