Lovely portrait of an elegant young notable by Fanny Geefs, born in Brussels in 1807. Fanny Geefs for Isabelle Marie Françoise Corr is a woman painter of often female portraits, genre scenes and historical subjects. She was a student of the well-known painter François Joseph Navez. We find works by Fanny Geefs at the Royal Museum of Fine Arts. This painting is of rare quality in the execution of the face which magnificently represents the softness, youth and fresh complexion of this young woman.
