Red chalk drawing on very finely executed pencil lines. This is a probable preparatory drawing for the painting "Autumn" from the series of paintings by Vien known as the "four seasons" which were produced in 1762 and 1763. On the background cardboard, a A typewritten text was affixed mentioning the succession of the different owners of these paintings until their sale in 1936 to the Hotel Drouot. Beautiful gilded wooden frame decorated with period pearls from the 18th century in good condition with its patina of time. Dimensions: Height: 44.5 cm x 30.5 cm sheet 59 cm x 45 cm frame The drawing is in good condition with some light foxing and dirt on the upper edge.
