Vienna Bronze By Franz Xavier Bergman Cleopatra With The Lioness

Polychrome and gilded Vienna bronze with an orientalist theme "Cleopatra and the Lioness". It is signed Nam GREB, which is the pseudonym of Franz Xavier Bergman. These bronzes are renowned for their high quality of execution, the details of Cleopatra's hairstyle, clothing and jewelry attest to this. This one was made at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. the sculpture is mounted on a spherical base in ivory marble veined with gray, which makes it a very pretty empty pocket. The chain is broken, small gaps in gilding above the foot, (see photos)
