This large terracotta edition bust of Madame Récamier is signed Houdon, Jean françois Houdon (1741 - 1828) Madame Récamier born December 3, 1777 in Lyon and died in Paris in 1849 was a French woman of letters whose Parisian salon brought together from the Directory, and until the July Monarchy, the greatest celebrities of the political, literary and artistic world.
