"Ewer And Its Basin In Solid Silver, Mid-19th Century"
Ewer and its basin in Solid Silver by Master Goldsmith Martial Fray who practiced from 1849 to 1861 at 22 Rue Pastourelle in the Marais in Paris, Minerva hallmark, 19th century circa 1855. Both bear a Monogram, an intertwined A and S. The Ewer has a polylobed spout, bordered by a double molding, and a very pronounced handle. The Basin also has this molding on its neck. The whole is in very good condition, one or two very light dents to report on the Ewer, you can see them in the photos. The basin has a diameter of 35cm and is 21cm high, for a weight of 940 grams. The ewer is 26cm high and 16cm wide, for a weight of 865 grams.
So for a weight of 1.805kg or 3.97 pounds.
