"Cast Iron Wall Plaque. Scene At The Antique. End Of The 19th Century"
Interesting decorative cast iron wall plaque. Like the obverses and reverses of the first known coins (Lydia then Greek world), our plaque represents a “revisited” ancient scene. Different elements taking up traditional iconography coexist: a winged goddess (Greco-Roman type) seems to "protect" a couple whose pause and pace are reminiscent of Adam and Eve (biblical characters from Genesis) in a luxuriant nature of 'before the "fault".... Very decorative. End of the 19th century.
