Bust of Christ, with the head slightly turned to the right and wearing a tunic. The bust is mounted on a circular molded base copper alloy base, very likely from the same period. The popularity of this type of bust grew significantly after the Council of Trent, particularly during the pontificate of Pope Pius V (1566-1572).
