This chest of drawers has two drawers surmounting a walnut veneered body. It rises on a tulip-shaped foot. All the white parts are made of ABS plastic, a very popular design material from the 1960s and 1970s. The whole is in good condition.
Luigi Sormani developed a passion from an early age for beautiful materials and the most elegant way to combine them with modern design. By creating his own furniture house in 1961, he had a profound impact on the design of the 1960s and 1970s thanks to fruitful collaborations, notably with Joe Colombo, Gio Ponti, Carlo De Carli, Claudio Salocchi, Cesare Casati, Emanuele Ponzio, Nani Prina, Antonello Mosca, Fabrizio Cocchia, Gianni Songia, De Pas, Studio ARDITI, Studio ABC (Achilli, Brigidini, Canella) or even with Pierre Cardin.
His furniture is notably exhibited at MoMA in New York.
