Frame in the shape of a policeman's hat in carved oak pegged Regency LXIV 18th century. The frame is coated and the background painted midnight blue. The acanthus leaves (in fleur-de-lys) are golden. Remains of painted canvas in the rebate show that the frame was originally used to highlight a painting on canvas. Plan to restore the patina of the frame.
