The lower part is composed of a candlestick with a round base with tiers and molding decorated with large channels and a surrounding laurel wreath. The tapered base is in the shape of a baluster with grooves and incorporated quiver arrows, pearls and ovals and with a round binet on a fluted pedestal with rich molding and a removable bobeche basin where the upper part rests to form a candelabra. The upper part is composed of four branches in the form of a volute and very richly molded Greek-style consoles with numerous decorations of asparagus and stylized acanthus leaves, and laurel leaves. The branches end with four lights in Antique Fluted Vases and with beautiful basins decorated with palmettes and beaded bobeches. On the central part sits an antique fire pot with falling laurel sprays and ribbon bows resting on a truncated fluted column and in its upper part the whole is surmounted by a snuffer with removable fire decoration. Condition report: Complete, everything is original, beautiful old gilding with matt and shiny, some disparities in patina with traces of use and age and some wear (old object). Provenance Parisian Collection. Very good quality bronze, the bronze is thick, bold, superbly chiseled. Elegance is essential and a rich, balanced decor enhances the careful architecture. This model seems to be largely inspired by the studies that Jean-Charles Delafosse (1734-1791), an illustrious Parisian architect, sculptor and sculptor, disseminated through his engraved collections and in particular "the new iconology" in 1788. His numerous drawings with drawn references in Antiquity were so many models for a whole generation of sculptors, decorators and bronze workers.
