"Padmasambhava, Medicine Buddha, Nepal."
Padmasambhava is widely venerated in all Tibetan Buddhist orders, hence his other name: Guru Rinpoche ("Precious Master"), who is credited with introducing Buddhism to Tibet. His iconographic attributes are prominently featured: The vase of abundance in his left hand and a medicinal plant in his right hand, which identify him as one of the eight medicine Buddhas, themselves represented on the front of the base. Red copper with brown patina, Nepal, circa 1900. Inscriptions on the back of the base.
