Allegory of the Night. Represents a naked woman wrapped in a dark blue veil. She wears a star on her head and holds in her hand a levitating censer leaving a trail of incense behind her. Guillaume-Charles Brun (1825-1908) is a French orientalist painter. Some of his works are exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay. This work can form a pair with the allegory of the day also present in our collection.
