Keman in bronze and copper alloy formerly gilded. Karyobinga and Mon of the Tokugawa.
Japan 19th century or probably before.
 Keman in copper-plated bronze cut, cast and gilded with mer-cure, with some remains of gilding.
Decorated with lotus flowers and peonies bringing good luck and longevity.
Kemans are hung in Japanese temples and replace bouquets of flowers.
everything is symbolic, including the central knot in strong relief.
superb carving work of extreme finesse.
Usually Kemans are decorated only with flowers. Very beautiful carving, some remains of gilding.

The bells which were suspended from the small decorated rings are missing, of which three ornaments remain.
