Commode With Mahogany Doors, Forming Writing Desk, 1840 Period
A richly carved mahogany and mahogany veneer chest of drawers, it opens in the lower part with two doors with a central motif representing the faces of a woman and a man in the spirit of Walter Scott. Inside, 3 drawers with light wood fronts and ebony fillets. In the upper part, the drawer opens and reveals a writing desk lined with leather with a gold sticker and two drawers and a pen holder inkwell in the center. Quality furniture, mounted on solid oak. It is topped with black marble veined with gray and white (later period) in good condition, varnished with a revised pad and changed leather. Work from the 1840s/1850s
