18th Century State Office
Elegant museum-quality roll-top desk in speckled mahogany decorated with brass frames surrounded by ebony fillets. It opens with four drawers in the belt, a cylinder and three drawers in alignment in the upper part as well as two side pulls covered in gilded leather with a small iron. Inside we discover a central pull, three drawers and three niches. Pretty sheathed base highlighted with solid brass ending in spinning top feet. Rare and exceptional diamond-shaped crosspiece that is nowhere to be found on the desks offered. White marble top framed with brass squares, cloverleaf locks with two keys, Very good condition, attributed to Riesener.
