Stéphane Brecq has been living in Indochina for 16 years when he was appointed 5th director of the Gia Dinh School. From 1926 he sold his woodcuts and drawings to the magazine Extrême-Amérique. He participated in the Colonial Society of French Artists in 1935, 1936 and 1937
