Object description :

"Brass Hourglass With Three Bulbs Datable Around 1700"
Hourglass made of a brass frame formed of two hexagonal bases, connected together by six columns formed of a brass rod, and bordered by a trefoil frieze decorated with openwork hearts.

Inside a flask with two ampoules in clear “bubbled” glass, one of which is made up of two spherical bulbs heat-welded.

The central joint is covered with gray fabric tight with golden threads and white sandblasting inside the bulbs.

Note: This hourglass is a great classic from the second half of the 17th century that can be found in various museums and private collections. An identical model is in the Louvre (coll. Nicolas Landau, inv. OA10793, cat.215).
