"Karl Lagerfeld – Original Signed Photo"
The Legend of Joseph, 1989 Silver photo by Karl Lagerfeld, 48.5 x 40.5 cm, print of 50, signed, titled, dated on the back. Provenance: charity sale of photos of Lagerfeld organized by the magazine Elle Deutschland in July 1989 in Munich in collaboration with the designer. The Legend of Joseph is a ballet based on the biblical episode from the book of Genesis “Joseph and Potiphar's Wife”. The texts are by the Austrian playwright Hugo von Hofmannsthal and the music by Richard Strauss. It was performed at the Paris Opera on May 14, 1914, by the Ballets Russes troupe directed by Serge Diaghilev.
