Very good condition
The art market has been invaded by thousands of fake prints (from 30,000 to 50,000, it is according to) truly signed by Salvador Dali.
“At the end of his life (1989, Editor’s note), he had pallets of paper delivered to him on which he put his divine signature. The papers were then transformed into lithographs, drawings, watercolors, etc. », affirms the blog Art-maniac which evokes the Divine Comedy according to Dali. In the 1980s, the artist, made Marquis of Pubol, told his visitors: “Here, do some Dali and get rich! » “The character has considerably harmed his work,” laments the expert of the Millon sale, Claude Oterelo, who is immediately asked the question of the authenticity of the prints put up for auction. “We consider that all the boards made after 1981 are fake. » (…). In reality, Dali did not wait until the end of his life to sign blank sheets. “Most of the forgeries date from the 1960s, when Dali began signing blank sheets for his publishers,” says a leading surrealism expert in Paris. To this same reflection, Nicolas Descharnes, son of Robert Descharnes, former secretary of the authoritative artist, adds in the preface to his father Dali's book, l'heritage infernal (Éditions Ramsay, La Marge, 2002): “In 1981, Robert Descharnes was tasked with identifying and eliminating fakes. In 1994, the task was accomplished.” (Sources: “Dali: signing is not playing” by Valérie Sasportas).
One of the rare sheets left blank... It's up to you to create your dream Dali!!!
