Ignace Van Isacker
Belgian painter, born in 1941. Van Isacker found his first source of inspiration on the coast. The linear, constructive and repetitive aspects of the piers, wave breakers and the horizon are the basis of his creations. In the 1960s, he joined the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels where Russian realism and American propaganda art were important factors of influence. Focusing less on the meaning of his subjects, his work became more precise, abstract, detailed and realistic over time. Until today, Van Isacker continues to create art in his studio in Knokke, Belgium.
