Fantastic landscape by Edmond Boissonnet. Edmond Boissonnet was born in Bordeaux in 1906 and died in Maulette in 1995. Painter and visual artist of the second school of Paris, he was founder of the Bordeaux independent artists group in 1927. Friend of André Lhote, he also frequented Pierre Bonnard and Raoul Dufy. This beautiful watercolor enhanced with charcoal dates from his fantasy period on the edge of abstraction, may be inspired by the village and church of Montcassin in the Gers, which he was so fond of. Signed and dated 1995 following the certificate of authenticity attached on the back Modern frame: 53 cm x 40 cm. Watercolor: 43 cm x 28 cm.
