The first figure in the famous David Weill collection, reproduced lot 71 vol II, sold in 1971. This pair of Flambeaux will be reproduced and referenced in the upcoming work by Mr Dromantin on the Goldsmiths of Bayonne. Very few pieces of goldwork from the 17th century have reached us, and even fewer for the province.
