A very beautiful painting from the 18th century, the student smoking a pipe, in the background, the cook is buying glasses from the seller of glasses, attributable to Jan Abel Wassenbergh I, Groningen 1689-1750 unsigned oil on panel: 56.5 X 41 cm. 19th century oak frame measuring 75 x 60 cm. A copy of this painting painted by son J.A.Wassenbergh II is kept at the Groningen Museum, oil on panel, measuring 56X42 cm see the last two photos for comparison.
